The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included in the paper and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

ETHICAL AND PLAGIARISM POLICY

To maintain high standards of publications, certain requirements are essential for contributors that their work should be an original contribution, not submitted/published elsewhere, and is plagiarism-free. Kashmir Journal of Geology (KJG) follows the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Ethical Guidelines and Plagiarism Policy.

MANUSCRIPT REVIEW

Editorial Procedures

  • All submitted manuscripts received by the Editorial Office of the Kashmir Journal of Geology (KJG) will be checked by the Assistant Editor to determine whether they are properly prepared and follow the ethical policies of the journal.
  • Manuscripts that do not fit the journal’s ethics policy or do not meet the standards of the journal will be rejected before peer-review.
  • Manuscripts that are not properly prepared will be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission. After these checks, the Assistant Editor will consult the journals’ Editor-in-Chief, Editor or Associate Editor to determine whether the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and whether it is scientifically sound.
  • The journal editors solely made the decision on the manuscript based on originality and suitability of the subject matter in contribution as well as the scope of the journal. The editors will be responsible and authorized for the rejection or acceptance of a submitted article to be published.

Review Policy

Kashmir Journal of Geology (KJG) follows the double-blind peer review policy. Once the manuscript is initially assessed for its suitability for the journal and similarity index, it is sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the quality of the manuscript. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles.

English Corrections

To facilitate proper peer-reviewing of your manuscript, it must be submitted in grammatically correct English. If you are not a native English speaker, we recommend that you have your manuscript professionally edited before submission or read by a native English-speaking colleague. All accepted manuscripts undergo language editing.

ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES (APC)

Currently, the Kashmir Journal of Geology (KJG) does not charge any article processing or publication fee from the authors.

DISCLOSURE AND CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

Kashmir Journal of Geology (KJG) requires that corresponding authors, on behalf of all the authors of submission, must disclose any potential sources of financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. Potential sources of conflict of interest include but are not limited to: patent or stock ownership, membership of a company board of directors, membership of an advisory board or committee for a company, and consultancy for or receipt of speaker's fees from a company. The existence of a conflict of interest does not preclude publication. If the authors have no conflict of interest to declare, they must also state this at submission.

SUBMISSION DECLARATION AND VERIFICATION

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract, a published lecture or academic thesis) that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or any other language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright holder.

ERRATA AND CORRECTIONS

Authors and readers are encouraged to notify the Editor-in-Chief if they find errors in published content, authors’ names and affiliations or if they have reasons for concern over the legitimacy of a publication.
