The manuscript should be prepared using given the Manuscript Templete in Microsoft Word keeping in view the following guidelines of the Kashmir Journal of Geology (KJG).
PREPARING YOUR MANUSCRIPT
The submission procedure includes a single file of the manuscript, having figures, and tables in a Microsoft Word file format. The arrangement of a manuscript should be in the given order:
1. Title Page
A title should be informative, brief and specific. Abbreviations can be used if they are defined in the abstract. Authors are individuals who have significantly contributed to the research and preparation of the article. The title page should contain the title of the manuscript, names and affiliations of the authors. Please designate the corresponding author with a full address, including an email address for future correspondence. Author affiliations should indicate the employment detail to the reader. Affiliations and recent addresses should be mentioned.
2. Abstract
The abstract states (i) objective of the research work (ii) brief methodology adopted (iii) results and (iv) conclusion. The abstract should be suitable for indexing and should be:
3. Keywords
Maximum of 6 keywords should be given after the abstract.
4. Main Text
4.1 Headings
The division of the text in the manuscript should be in a separate section with different headings having Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3 etc. the headings can be used up to four levels in subsections (1.1, 1.2, 1.1.1, 1.2.1……. and so on. The first letter of each heading must be upper case. They should not include parenthetical reference citations or table and figure callouts.
4.2 Manuscript Formatting
Prepare manuscript using font size Time New Roman 12 double space on A4 paper size having continuous lines numbering from the first page to the last.
4.3 Abbreviations
The first occurrence of abbreviations should be explained.
4.4 Citations
Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). It is recommended to use APA style (Seventh Edition) for in-text citation.
4.5 Footnotes
The table captions and author affiliations can be incorporated as a footnote.
4.6 Reference Citations
It is recommended to use APA style (Seventh Edition) for reference citation. For detailed citations follow the list for KJG style below:
5. References List
All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list. The first line of each entry in your reference list should be on the left margin. Subsequent lines should be indented from the margin. All references should be double-spaced. Capitalize only the first word of a title or subtitle of a work. Italicize the titles of books and journals. Note that the italicizing in these entries often continues beneath commas and periods. Authors’ names are inverted (last name first); give last name and initials for all authors of a particular work. Your reference list should be alphabetized (order) by authors’ last names. If you have more than one work by a particular author, order them by publication date, oldest to newest (thus a 1991 article would appear before a 1996 article). When an author appears as a sole author and as the first author of a group, list the one-author entries first.

6. Figures
The figures in the whole manuscript should be at an appropriate location having a relevant caption below. Figures should be in JPG format only, scanned figures are not acceptable. (The photographs and illustrations should be coloured and sharp in appearance for clear reproduction (600 dpi). Avoid excess use of text in figures, the explanation of abbreviations and symbols is mandatory. There should be a caption for each figure in the text also and placed in sequential order of figure at submission.
A single file of the main manuscript with figures inserted in the relevant location is required for the submission process, however, a separate file of high-resolution figures is uploaded at revision or resubmission for production. Do not send figures parts separately, upload a single numbered file embedded in all parts of the figure. Avoid including figure titles and figure captions (e.g., “Figure 1”) as any part of the figure.
7. Tables
The tables should be placed at an appropriate location in the manuscript with captions below the table. The table title should be unique, self-explanatory and there must be headings on each column.
8. Acknowledgements and Data Statement
All authors must list the funding sources related to this work including any in-kind support or direct data sources.
9. Supporting Information
The supporting figures/images and text should be in a single PDF file, limited to file size or type. Movies, .zip archives, and tables (.csv files or Excel) files can be separate.
The supporting information will also be reviewed with the manuscript. The supporting information references must be cited in the main text for indexing. There is no need for a separate list of supporting information. Reference text will not be included in length limits. The key analysis or discussion should not contain supporting information.
MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
The manuscript should be prepared according to the above-mentioned authors’ guidelines. The manuscript having incomplete formatting will not undergo a peer-review process. The manuscript should be submitted through emails editorin.chief.kjg@ajku.edu.pk or editor.kjg@ajku.edu.pk
COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL
Authors required permission from the copyright holder or another author for using their material (e.g., graphics,) and figures. These figures can be redrawn with slight modifications. The public domain, as well as KJG, originated materials do not require permission. Permission will be applicable for material distribution in all current and future media formats.
The process of obtaining permission can be time taking, so before submission of the manuscript to KJG you should have the necessary permissions.
The revised manuscript should accompany the permission(s) document. After receiving permission at KJG the research articles will be published finally.
ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES (APC)
Currently, the Kashmir Journal of Geology (KJG) does not charge any article processing or publication charges from the authors.
